We are pleased to inform you that the Winter League 2025 will kick off on Jan 8, 2025. The matches will begin at 8 pm, sharp. Please check in by 7:45 pm. You are encouraged to visit the City's website to sign up for the league, which is $20 per season. If for any reason, you are unable to sign up online, you may still join at the check-in desk at the gym. Please feel free to bring friends!

Happy Thanksgiving week to all! We have more information regarding our gym re-opening.

We are happy to announce that Long Beach Table Tennis Club will resume normal operations beginning Monday, December 2, at the Oak Middle School Gym (10821 Oak St.). The Oak Gym has a brand-new floor and repainted lines. Thank you for your patience throughout the reconstruction process and we are hopeful to have each one of you back for table tennis. We are excited to inform you that the gymnasium renovation work has been completed. Due to the Thanksgiving holidays, we will reopen on Monday, Dec 2, 2024. Please be there to witness the beauty of the renovated gym. We will have open play for a couple of weeks before we decide a date for the Winter League. We look forward to seeing you all.

We have received an update from the city of Los Alamitos. The gymnasium renovation project will be postponed for one week. We will be open for play until Saturday, Sept 28. The closure begins on Monday, Sept 30. Please stay tuned for updates on the progress of the renovation work.

The long anticipated gymnasium repair work has finally been scheduled to begin on Monday, September 23. The project is estimated to take 2-3 weeks. we will keep you posted whenever we receive updates from the city. You can also check this website or the city's (Los Alamitos) website for the latest news. We hope you enjoy this short break and look forward to seeing you all back to see the gymnasium with a new face.

We are happy to confirm that the Spring League will kick off tonight. Scott, a coordinator from the city, will be at the check-in table to assist with anyone who would like to sign up for the league tonight. Credit card payments for enrollment are preferable. While Scott will be available to accomodate adhoc payments, we do encourage all those interested in participating to enroll for the league ahead of time via online registration. Details are in the flyer below.

We have some good news! The club will be open tonight (Monday, Mar. 4) with limited tables. The gym is still under repair; however, the city will make accommodations so that the club can operate around the repair. Please be courteous in sharing tables. Based on how tonight runs will determine the club operations for the remainder of the week. Thank you for your cooperation, and we hope to see you all tonight!

Unfortunately, the gym will need to remain closed through the week due to the floor damage from the recent heavy rain. Rest assured, repairs are in progress, and we hope the gym will be ready for play very soon. The Spring League has been pushed back to March 6, given the gym is fully repaired by then. * SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT *

Dear members,

I am pleased to inform you that LBTTC has come into agreement of merging with the Recreation & Community Services of the City of Los Alamitos. The partnership will begin on Dec 1st , 2023, the first day of play will be on Dec 4th. From that day on, the city will be in charge of all collections and financial matters, which include membership fees and league enrollments. LBTTC's committee members and I will keep on working hard to coordinate and assist the city's staff to ensure smooth and fun table tennis activities as usual.

The LBTTC website will stay operational and will be constantly updated to display current information. There will be a link to the city's website for those who want to enroll online, which is very much recommended. You may also login directly to the city's website at http://losalrecreation.myrec.com, or call (562)430-1073. The city's flyer is linked for your convenience.

Effective Dec 4th, 2023, members must prepay online or pay the drop-in fee when entering the gymnasium. You will also be required to sign the city's waiver form every time you come to play. Those with remaining annual membership only need to sign at the first time.

Annual and semi-annual membership will no longer be accepted. Monthly fee will be $40, which covers the first to the last day of the month that you pay for. You are encouraged to visit the city's website to learn more about the enrollment rules and the schedule. League participants should sign up online too.

Please don't hesitate to ask me or any of the coordinators if you have any questions. We appreciate your continued support and expect to see you around and grow with the club.

The club will continue to observe the same protocols and precautionary measures we have been in order to ensure the safety of our members. For reference:

Protocols for ALL players to follow:

  1. Must wear face covering at all times.
  2. Keep distance from fellow players, at least 6 feet apart.
  3. Minimize contact and talking.
  4. Stay clear of the admim/control table. Please do not touch club documents. Yell out your name from designated distance to the duty officer to check in.
  5. Prepare exact change if you have to pay a fee. No change will be given. Drop the exact amount of fee into the box provided.
  6. Always clean the tables, balls, and rackets prior to and after play.
  7. Never touch your face with your hands, unless they are washed.
  8. Please donate sanitizer, wet wipes, and paper towels for use by club members. (Your contributions are greatly appreciated!)

We've missed you all and look forward to playing table tennis with you again soon!

It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to Bill Hillier. Bill passed away on May 26, 2021 at the age of 96. He was a long time member of the Long Beach Table Tennis Club, and he was also the oldest member of the club - he played actively until the age of 90 (2015). Bill served the club as treasurer for over 40 years. In addition, he was a committee member since 2001, when it was first organized. Not only was Bill an active member of the club, but he was also a great friend to many. Bill will truly be missed.

Hi table tennis community. Following California Governor Gavin Newsome statewide "shelter in place" order, the gym facilities will be closed until April 30, 2020. At that time, the city of Los Alamitos will evaluate the situation in regard to the COVID-19 Pandemic and notify us then about the availability of any future use.

As for the Los Alamitos community residents, surrounding community residents, and program customers, the city has created a virtual Community Center. They post all sorts of activities and resources for the whole family to enjoy from the safety of their home daily. They also have a Grocery Program every Tuesday at the Community Center for adults over the age of 60 and low income families that is completely FREE, and you do not need to be a resident of the City of Los Alamitos. The City website also includes information and updates regarding the COVD-19 situation.

The LBTTC Committee hopes you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy, and we look forward to when we can all come together to play the sport we love again soon!

Given the recent events related to coronavirus COVID-19, the City of Los Alamitos recently received recommendations from the California Department of Public Health in order to protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19. While there are currently no cases of COVID-19 in Los Alamitos, the city is taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our community. In keeping with our goals of protecting the community, all use at Oak Gym will be suspended for the remainder of March, thus club play will be cancelled at this time.

Long Beach Table Tennis Club will keep you, our loyal members, informed as soon as we hear more news from the city. We hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy during this challenging time. We apologize for the inconvenience, but thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

The Spring League 2015 will begin on Wednesday, March 11. You don't need to sign up in advance. Just show up by 7:45 pm at the club and pay the one-time league fee of $10.

The City of Los Alamitos is organizing its annual Spring Fair, which will take place on Saturday, April 4th. The Long Beach Table Tennis Club sponsored this event last year and received good feedback. The city is requesting us to continue the sponsorship, and we have to count on your support. Our minimum goal is to raise $500 within the next two weeks. Please contribute as much as you can as any amount will help the community. Please drop your donation money into the donation box at the club or give it to Steve Galm (treasurer) or Winston Ngai (president). Thank you for your support.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Due to school activities, our club schedule will be changed, effective April 9th through August.

Open play will now be on Monday and Wednesday evenings, from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. Starting April 9th, we will no longer be playing on Saturady mornings during these few months.

The Spring League will continue on Monday evenings instead of Saturday mornings.

Sorry if this causes any inconveniences, and we thank you for your cooperation.

The National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) is looking for college table tennis players to compete in their first-ever NCTTA Singles tournament(s).

The country is divided into six Regions and 28 Divisions. Each of these Divisions will be hosting their own tournament with an opportunity to qualify players to the Regional competition. A national collegiate singles tournament will be held in Plano, Texas on April 13-15, 2012. Eighty men and forty women will be invited from the Regional singles competition to compete for the national title.
